Note from Ms. Bonamo:

In The Computer Chair

It is very important for students to be familiar with new technologies that are available in the classroom.  Students in our classroom will use word processing programs such as Microsoft Word and Open Office, create slide shows such as Power Point and Impress, and do research online using internet search engines such as Google.

Students will learn how to save and open files on the computer using a floppy disk and/or thumb drive. Fourth and Fifth grade students have a mobile computer lab which have thirty small laptops with wireless access which are rotated through the building.

Many of our textbooks and resources are now online.  We also have Edmodo, Brainpop, and FCAT Explorer, just to name a few online resources provided for our students.

There are many online resources that will help students as they work on projects throughout their school career.  Another goal is to learn the best ways to research topics online.

By using a variety of technology application while students are in the elementary grades, they will be exposed to new technologies and comfortable with new applications as they move toward Middle and High School.

My goal is to share as much technology as possible throughout our daily curriculum so that my students feel comfortable and confident exploring new technologies. As technology grows, more will be expected from our students.  I want each student to be prepared for our technological world.
